Converse’s latest collaboration with Joe FreshGoods takes you back to the 1970s. The Disco collection is a big throwback to a time when runways were paramount, and it was inspired by Chicago in 1976. Joe Robinson, founder and designer of streetwear brand Joe FreshGoods, actually grew up on the West Side of Chicago and wanted to incorporate the essence of atmosphere into the collection. “I wanted to approach the collection like a reader leafing through a book about love, black culture, soul and art. Each piece is a history lesson,” Robinson said in a press release.
The $ 120 Converse x Joe FreshGoods Chuck 70s features a multi-colored upper with a mixed graphic print and a tie-dye tongue. They even have a Hang Tag inspired shirt! The Pro Leather sneakers, priced at $ 110, feature a black, floral-print, embroidered upper made from a mix of suede and velvet with cord patches on each heel. There’s also a patent leather Star Chevron logo and a touch of glitter on the outsole.
Converse x Joe FreshGoods will be available for purchase on Thursday, December 17th, worldwide at Converse.com and select global retailers. The collection starts at $ 50 for the tie-dye T-shirt and goes up to $ 120 for the see-through travel bag and Pro Leather sneakers. Read on to see the full collection and campaign images.
