Ellen DeGeneres is the latest star to test positive as the coronavirus continues to rage in the US. She announced the news on December 10th.

Get well soon, Ellen DeGeneres! The talk show host took to Instagram on December 10 to reveal that she had tested positive for COVID-19. Along with sharing her coronavirus diagnosis, she announced that she would be taking a break from her show until after the holidays while quarantined under CDC guidelines. She also confirmed that people she came in contact with had been informed of her diagnosis.

“I want you all to know that I have tested positive for Covid-19,” wrote Ellen. “Fortunately, I’m fine right now. Everyone who has been in close contact with me has been notified and I am following all proper CDC guidelines. We’ll all meet again after the holidays. Please stay safe and healthy. Lots of love, Ellen. “

Ellen has been back in the studio for the Ellen DeGeneres Show since September. While some of their guests are still performing virtually on the show, there have also been a number of celebrity guests in the studio for interviews in recent weeks. Plus, of course, the producers and other crew members and a limited audience were in the building. It has not been confirmed whether or not anyone tested positive in this area as well.

Unfortunately, Ellen joins a long list of celebrities to get a positive coronavirus test. While many showed mild or no symptoms, others were very sick from the virus. March, Khloe Kardashian could barely get out of bed for days while battling the disease and a few weeks ago Jeremih was in intensive care with COVID. Other stars that had coronavirus include Kanye West, Tom Hanks and Larsa Pippen and many more.

The total death toll from coronavirus in the United States has exceeded 290,000, and the number has increased in recent months. Officials started giving the COVID-19 vaccine in the UK earlier this week, with the elderly / high risk and healthcare workers being among the first to receive it.
