The Nike Air Max series has consistently brought out some of the game’s most sought-after and groundbreaking sneakers. Hell, the Swoosh even made up a vacation for the shoe line. But you don’t have to wait that long to get your hands on perfect Air Maxes. Because this month, not just one, but two extremely popular Air Max sneakers are returning: a cult-loved Air Max 97 color scheme and a duo of collaborative Air Max 95s.
The Air Max 95 debuted more than 25 years ago and is still a shoe icon today – and this vintage colorway brings the legend back to life. It was designed by Sergio Lozano, a relatively new Nike designer focused on the brand’s ACG sub-label. The shoe was originally intended for the toughest runners who really hit the sidewalk and needed more cushioning than the Air Max models previously offered. The design of the Air Max 95 is based on the human body: a lacing system that is inspired by a set of ribs, an outsole based on a spine and an upper material that plays out the concept of muscle fibers.

The Air Max 97 is similarly legendary. This new duo of collaborative sneakers comes through Nike and Undefeated, the long-standing streetwear store in Los Angeles that has become a coveted brand. In 2017, the two companies teamed up to remix the sneaker, and sneakerheads and streetwear fans alike were thrilled – arguably called it one of the best Air Max 97s ever released.
Now Undefeated and Nike are repeating the celebrated design in two new colors: militia green and orange, as well as black and volt yellow.
The two new Air Max 97 sneakers from Undefeated will drop on December 28th, and the Air Max 95 “OG Neon” is already sold out via Nike, but can be picked up via StockX. Whether this is your first pair of Air Maxes or you have too many to count, any sneaker is a worthy addition.
