New York Movie Critics Circle Awards Go For “First Cow”

One of the larger groups of critics released its quotes today, and the New York Film Critics Circle announced the 2020 winners. After awarding The Irishman a Best Picture win last year, this time they got significantly smaller, quoting First Cow with a picture. Da 5 Bloods (Best Actor for Delroy Lindo and Best Supporting Actor for Chadwick Boseman) and Never Rarely Sometimes Always (Best Actress for Sidney Flanigan and Best Screenplay for Eliza Hittman) had the most wins with two plays. NYFCC spread the word and gave Chloé Zhao and Nomadland the thumbs up, as did Borat Subsequent Moviefilm (Best Supporting Actress for Maria Bakalova). If this is how the awards season goes, we’re going to experience something pretty fun …
