The Smart Ones, written and executed by Halpern and Haskins, is about two sisters who are reunited when the smart one – who should have been successful – pulls together with the mistake that actually became a success.

The owner of a successful Ohio carpet business written by Sweiss and Adler in Murdochs is retiring. So he has to decide which of his four adult children will take over the family business.

Sweiss and Adler produce together with Halpern and Haskins.

Halpern and Haskins most recently created and produced the CBS comedy Carol’s Second Act, starring Patricia Heaton, which aired for one season on CBS. The duo co-wrote the script for Booksmart 2019. Their previous TV credits include Black-ish, Good Girls and The Mayor.

Sweiss also writes and produces Real People, a single-camera comedy for ABC. Sweiss was previously the chief writer on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. She is currently a writer on the Drew Barrymore Show.

Adler wrote the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon from 2014 to 2018.
