A few months ago, the brewery sequel Creed III became popular, possibly staged by none other than franchise star and namesake Michael B. Jordan. Ryan Coogler ran the first with great success, while Creed II got Steven Caple Jr. to step in and do a really tough job too. Now it seems like one of Jordan’s main co-stars spilled the beans on whether or not he will actually make his directorial debut in the sequel. Read on to find out the answer, but spoiler alert … it seems like Jordan is following in Sylvester Stallone’s footsteps.
According to MTV News (via The Playlist), Tessa Thompson has confirmed that Jordan is the one who will direct the next Creed movie. This is exciting news as Stallone notoriously cut his teeth directing Rocky sequels, and not just starred in them. Jordan is already the better actor. So if he can be the better filmmaker too, Creed III really will be something. It’s early, but as soon as this gets going, count me down.
Here is a selection from The Playlist’s story:
Speaking to MTV News, the actress not only confirmed that Michael B. Jordan will direct “Creed 3”, but Thompson also shared her concern that the filmmaker-turned-actor is actually too sexy, which could serve as a problem on the set.
“He’s leading the next ‘Creed,” “revealed Thompson. “I think it will be ammunition when he deals with me as a director. I’m just going to tell him to lower sexuality. “
She added, “We won’t make it until later this year. So who knows what’s going to happen? I don’t know if he’ll be the sexiest man still alive in six months. “
