Tyler Rich ended 2020 with a terrifying discovery.
On Thursday, New Year’s Eve, the 34-year-old country singer wrote on his Instagram story that he had found the body of a young man named Eric in the woods of Chicopee Memorial State Park, Massachusetts on a four mile run. Rich, a native of California, had just finished vacationing with his wife Sabina Gadecki in Chicopee, her hometown.
“I then saw what I thought was a young homeless man who was sleeping,” wrote Rich, according to screenshots from People. “He was on his stomach with a bag tied around his foot and faced down. (Assuming that was because people didn’t steal his things while he was sleeping.) After walking around him I felt bad for him sleeping face down [sic] and just looked like he was in a bad place. So I turned and went back to check on him. “
Rich continued, “I realize he’s not breathing, and when I get around in front of him all I see is a lifeless face covered in blood. Everywhere. Looks like a shot or a blunt force. At that moment, freaking out I get out and sprint up the steep hill to find someone with a phone to call people with (I only had my Apple Watch at the time) I find a couple who walk and be on the main path about 30 yards away Phone used for an hour to testify with state forces, FBI, local police, detectives, etc. for a few hours. “
