Rachel Uchitel finally revealed what happened the night that shocked the sports world in the second and final installment of HBO’s Tiger documentaries. Subsequent January 17th Tiger Woods’ The 45-year-old former lover described what happened on Thanksgiving night in 2009 as the golfer’s then-wife Elin Nordegrendiscovered that the tabloid rumor about their affair was true.
Rachel admitted that a few days earlier, she and her lover had “done everything to stop a National Enquirer story” that revealed their secret romance. One of the tabloid reporters had seen that she was visiting rooms at a Melbourne hotel during the Australian Masters Tigers, and despite the couple’s best efforts, the magazine insisted on getting the article published.

At that time, the secretly roaming golfer had a golden boy image. The father of two has conspired with his lover to convince Elin that the story is not true. According to the documentary, he even spoke to the two women on the phone.
“We had an extensive 30-minute conversation, Elin and I, and convinced her that I was not having a sexual relationship with Tiger,” Rachel said. “We talked about how I knew Tiger, how I knew his friends, how and why I was in Australia.”
Elin seemed to believe Rachel and Tiger, and two days later Rachel said she and the golfer had a Happy Thanksgiving Day, relieved they got away with it.

“Between that stupid story and the phone call with Elin, I remember thinking, oh my god, we’re going to slide over it in a minute,” she said. “It was Thanksgiving two days later. Tiger and I texted all day saying we had to be very grateful. We had gotten away from what could have been a nightmare. “
In fact, Rachel said that night that Tiger texted her saying, “You were the only one I ever loved.” “I remember just feeling like it had never been better between us and then he told me he was going to take an Ambien and go to sleep,” she said.
But then the night took a dramatic turn. “When I got another text from him, I was a bit surprised,” she said. “What came through was something like ‘When will I see you again?’ And then the phone rang. I answered and said something like, “Hey babe, I thought you went to sleep.” And instead of Tiger’s voice, it was Elin. And she said, “I knew it was you.”

That night would become notorious after Tiger crashed his car into a fire hydrant near his Florida home and reports swirled that the cause was adultery, with Elin using a golf club to smash his car window.
Tiger’s life got out of hand. He went into rehab for sex addiction, divorced Elin, and became the bum of talk show comedians after numerous women came out of the woodworks claiming they were his lovers too.
Rachel, who had been silent for more than a decade before this HBO documentary, was targeted by the paparazzi. “This story was so big, it was the end of my life as I knew it,” she said. The two-part documentary Tiger is available on HBO and on the streaming service HBO Max.
