Before the Washington, DC celebrations began, the President’s children and grandchildren were introduced to the sound of the Navy band at the US Capitol John Philips Sousa‘s march appropriately titled “The Beau Ideal”.

It’s just one of the ways the Biden family pays tribute to Beau, who died of a battle against brain cancer this historic week in 2015.

In the Tuesday edition of Today, First Daughter Ashley Biden sat down with Jenna Bush Hager and thought about her deceased half-brother. “He was 46 when he died,” shared Ashley. “Dad will be the 46th President.”

She continued, “I know Beauie will be with us. He’s so proud. He’s so, so proud. He’s so proud of Dad.”

And just the day before he was sworn in as President of the United States, Joe gave a speech in Delaware that became emotional when he talked about his family.
