The cause of death for wipeout candidates Michael Paredes was published.
The 38-year-old Paredes took part in the TBS series last November, which is an un-launched reboot of ABC’s original game show, which ran from 2008 to 2014. He died 24 hours after being rushed to hospital after attempting the show’s difficult obstacle course.
The autopsy report from the LA County’s coroner office, the E! News, stated that Paredes died of natural causes. He suffered a blockage of his coronary arteries and an acute case of pneumonia. No drugs or alcohol were found in his body.
Paredes fell in the water during his wipeout challenge. He was dragged out of the pool by staff after unable to stand out. He was placed in a wheelchair where he went into cardiac arrest before being resuscitated and taken to the hospital.
Paredes’ fiancée, who was also on the show, told NBC News that the participant exercised two hours a day, five days a week. Both passed a drug test, EKG, and COVID-19 test before filming the show.
Wipeout that is hosted by John price, Camille Kostek and Nicole Byer, requires attendees to undergo medical exams prior to attending the show. E! At the time, it was announced that the Wipeout production team has numerous medics and a security producer to oversee the set while filming.
