A 51-year-old woman was shockingly shot and killed while praying in church yesterday. Police believe she was shot for asking a man to wear a face covering while MTO News confirmed it at church.
Andrea Lowe-Garwood, who worked as the regional credit card officer for the National Commercial Bank, attended church as she did every Sunday. A man whom the police describe as 5 feet 10 inches tall, fair complexed and dressed in a red shirt sat behind them.
The man was reportedly not wearing a mask, which is mandatory in public spaces due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Police say Andrea turned around and politely asked him to put on a mask as the law requires. She then prayed again.
That was apparently a FATAL bug. Police say that when Andrea said her prayers, the gunman sitting behind her opened shots at her several times.
The church was broadcasting the service when the murder occurred.
So far the police have not held the suspect in custody. The incident occurred just outside of Montego Bay in Jamaica.
