One of the films originally identified as a potential player for 2020 awards was Taylor Sheridan’s “Those Who Wish Me Dead”. The film with Angelina Jolie is another Western work by Sheridan, which is his second directorial work. Of course, the year came and went, but the Warner Bros. film is heading towards a hybrid theatrical release and streaming release here in 2021. Now we know it will hit both theaters and theaters on May 14th like it did on HBO Max, will it be an Oscar contender next year? Time will tell, but at least now we know when to see it!

Warner Bros. has just announced that Taylor Sheridan’s New Line title “Those Who Wish Me Dead” will be released on May 14th this year.
Remember, that means both in theaters and on HBO Max on the opening weekend.
The female neo-western who competes against wildfire in the Montana wilderness plays Angelina Jolie, Nicholas Hoult, Jon Bernthal, Tyler Perry, Aidan Gillen, Medina Senghore, Finn Little and Jake Weber. Pic is based on Michael Kortya’s novel, which was previously adapted by Charles Leavitt and Michael Kortya.
Sheridan also wrote and produces. Other producers include Garrett Basch, Steven Zaillian, Aaron L. Gilbert and Kevin Turen.
