# Roommates, just in time for spring break and summer activities, popular amusement park chain Six Flags has a big plan to welcome their customers back. In a recent announcement, Six Flags confirmed that it plans to open all of its amusement parks across the country – hiring thousands of workers in the process.
@NYPost reports that, despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Six Flags has officially announced plans to restart operations. The company has just announced that all 26 locations will reopen for the 2021 season. This also includes the five locations that will remain closed for the duration of 2020. However, in order to safely resume the reopening, Six Flags announced what health precautions were being taken. In addition, there are plans to recruit thousands of new employees through upcoming online hiring events.
Customers can expect face coverings and temperature checks for all guests and employees, limited capacity in all parks, mobile-only payments to keep contact to a minimum, and an online reservation system that encourages customers to book online rather than at checkout windows to interact. While most reopening dates are subject to change due to constantly updated state health guidelines, Six Flags is currently setting reopening dates for California, Massachusetts, Illinois, Canada, and Mexico City.
Bonnie Weber, Senior Vice President Park Operations, explained the company’s decision to reopen in a press release. “Our guests and team members are ready for the fun and unique Six Flags thrill to return in 2021. Last year we set the standard for the safe operation of our parks and with 21 million guests in compliance with the government and CDC – Health guidelines maintained by our 26 parks, ”said Weber.
Last year when the company decided to keep select parks open, there was a website warning informing customers that if they enter a Six Flags amusement park they are taking their own risk of possible exposure to COVID-19.
