Actors’ Fairness Publicizes City Corridor In Response To Members’ Petition – .

The Actors’ Equity Association will hold a town hall event to discuss safety protocol and return to work issues raised in a petition by more than 2,000 union members last week.

Details of the town hall, including the location and date, will be announced shortly, the union writes.

The petition organized and signed by Hadestown actor Timothy Hughes Broadway stars such as Karen Olivo, Aaron Tveit, Stephanie J. Block, Rachel Bay Jones, Eva Noblezada, Rob McClure, Ato Blankson-Wood, Robyn Hurder and Emily Skinner, among others, expressed concerns that “While many aspects of our lives are moving towards a new sense of normalcy, this is not the case in our Union. “

The petition states that many Equity members “are deeply frustrated and increasingly concerned about the lack of practical details for getting back to work”. The petition also criticized “the increasingly problematic lack of communication” on the issue from Equity.

In his response to Medium, Equity wrote: “Some of you have asked for more information on how the way forward in the theater is. We see you and we hear you. Look out for a town hall in the coming days where you can learn more about our safety protocols and have your voice heard, especially as vaccines become increasingly available. “
