In years’ time, fashion critics and historians will ponder the things we wore during the pandemic. Personal protective equipment, fancy jogging pants, face masks; Our style dictionary is now very different from January 2020 and thanks to Marc Jacobs we will be adding a new, previously “unprecedented” term to our vocabulary: sexy vaccine chic.
Jacobs shared a photo of himself in a doctor’s office on Instagram. A nurse gives his second dose of vaccine and this would be perfectly normal, except for Jacobs to be wearing a light leopard print jacket, a pink sequin skirt and white platform boots. He’s also completely unbuttoned his shirt to show half of his chest and biceps tattoo – and to allow the nurse to inject his Pfizer vaccine. Jacobs has helpfully hashtagged his #marshmallowsnowballrealness look.
It’s so sexy. To be honest, we’re surprised we haven’t seen more suggestive vaccine cases making the rounds. The potential of showing skin is especially alluring – when you can ignore the healthcare worker who bravely gives you a life-saving injection. The hottest spring accessories are mRNA-induced antibodies with a hint of nip slip. And as soon as we have achieved herd immunity, hello great summer 2021. *
* Until then, please wear your mask according to CDC guidelines and get vaccinated!
