Timothée Chalamet and Lily-Rose Depp, the most blessed union of Generation Z’s cheekbones, may or may not be back together. According to Entertainment Tonight, the couple were spotted shopping at New York clothing and jewelry boutique Verameat over the weekend, when some very rom-com-esque gimmicks ensued.
“They came in together and both looked around. Timothée has come to the store several times, both with Lily and alone,” claimed ET’s source. “While Lily was looking at something outside, he quickly bought it for her as a secret gift and then ran out.” The source added that Chalamet is a semi-regular at the store and has also bought himself a jacket and necklace. Apparently he’s always really nice to the staff – good to know that in real life he’s more like his polite Call Me By Your Name character, rather than his Lady Bird character, Kyle.
The couple first met when they starred alongside Robert Pattinson in the Netflix epic The King. Rumors that they were a couple first surfaced in late 2018, but it apparently erupted in 2020 when Chalamet was officially declared single on a UK Vogue profile that appeared in April that year.
21 year old Depp is keen to keep her business private. “The value of privacy was instilled in me at a young age,” she recently told Drew Barrymore on the actress’ talk show. The 25-year-old Chalamet had been linked to a potential no-dork flame here and there, but rumors the couple had reunited have been swirling around for weeks – especially if you happen to be following the DeuxMoi Instagram account.
Depp is in the process of promoting her latest film, Voyagers, but the rumor also comes just months after Chalamet portrayed Edward Scissorhands, one of Depp’s father’s most famous characters, Johnny, in a Super Bowl advertisement for an American auto company.
Of course, who knows what the state of their relationship really is. You are both young. We suspect this means they get along enough if the chance of someday starring in a Tim Burton film isn’t ruled out.
In any case, don’t expect greater confirmation. Depp takes her privacy seriously, and last time they only appeared at official events in connection with advertising obligations for The King.
Chalamet has released several films this year, including Dune, while Depp will next star in the art-house dramas Wolf and Silent Night.
