The government’s Covid-19 task force announced on Friday (May 14) that people would be allowed to gather in groups of up to two people from May 16.
The daily upper limit of five different visitors per household is also reduced to two different visitors per day.
“Individuals should continue to limit their total number of social gatherings to no more than two per day, whether in a different household or meeting friends and family in a public place,” the Ministry of Health said.
In addition, no one is allowed to dine in food and beverage stores, including street vendors and cafes. Indoor and outdoor restaurants can only offer takeaways and deliveries.

Working from home also remains the default. Employers must ensure that workers who can work from home do so, and social gatherings in workplaces are not allowed.
Meal breaks can be taken at the workplace, but employees should not mix with their colleagues when their masks are removed.
Wedding banquets must be set, but special arrangements can be made for those with wedding plans this Sunday. You can proceed but with the required pre-event testing for all guests.
Other activities that are also not allowed include strenuous indoor exercise classes or strenuous indoor sports and exercise activities for individuals and groups.
