actress Lisa Banes is in critical condition after being hit by an unknown person driving a scooter.
According to New York Police Department, Banes – a prolific stage and film actress who Marybeth in David Fincher‘s Gone Girl — was hit by a person on a scooter near the intersection of West 64th Street and Amsterdam Ave in Manhattan. Authorities said she was found on the sidewalk with severe head trauma.
The person on the scooter did not stay on site. Banes, 65, was transported to Mount Sinai Saint Luke’s Hospital and is in critical condition.
No arrests have been made at this point and local law enforcement agencies are investigating the case. Although authorities did not disclose the victim’s name, the information they shared is consistent with reporting by TMZ, who first broke the news.
In addition, Lisa’s representative E! News that “she was crossing Amsterdam Avenue to attend Juilliard School (her alma mater) at Lincoln Center when she was hit. She is currently in critical condition with significant injuries on Mt. Sinai Morningside.”
Banes’ wife Kathryn Kranhold made a statement to the New York Post: “We’ll know more in the next few days.”
