Chris HarrisonThe journey is over.
After nearly 19 years of hosting The Bachelor, The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise, the 49-year-old star will officially leave the franchise, Deadline reports. According to the outlet, Harrison will allegedly receive an eight-digit severance payment if he does not comment on his departure.
The news comes four months after he temporarily left the series after defending himself from temporarily Rachael Kirkconnell. Kirkconnell – who snapped Matt James‘Last Rose – was controversial during her season after photos of her came to light in 2018 attending a plantation themed party.
“The police that have woken up are out there,” he said in an interview with Rachel Lindsay. “And that poor girl Rachael who just got thrown at the lions, I don’t know what endowed you are if you’ve never done this before to be awake enough, eloquent enough to deal with it.”
When the backlash erupted, Harrison apologized on social media for “speaking incorrectly in a way that perpetuates racism.”
