Kendra Kolb Butler
Founder, Alpyn Beauty
A couple of years in her forties, baby-faced Kendra Kolb Butler’s workplace looks very different from the boardroom in her thirties – we recently handpicked her nettle for her in a field near Jackson Hole, Wyoming, for her latest blockbuster serum . But her skin looks a lot more radiant than it used to be. Alpyn’s founder credits her drastic lifestyle change (she moved from NYC to Jackson Hole, had children, and first started a beauty boutique and then a skincare brand), the increased confidence she feels as she ages, and clean skin care from high altitudes.

“I thought I looked good in my thirties when I lived in Manhattan and had a company job, but I didn’t feel that good,” she says. “Now that I have had two kids in Jackson Hole, I wear a slightly larger size pant but have never been happier, and I think it shows on my face.”
“People say I don’t look my age or have a ‘baby face,’ though I have to admit that it happens less now than it used to,” says Butler. “My husband is older than me and is still getting carded a lot, so the competition is heating up!” She finds a new comment that comes up more and more flattering: “People say they feel like they have known me forever . I love that. I’ve heard studies say thirty-five is the favorite age of most women, but I’m not so sure. I like the confidence that I seem to gain year after year by making mistakes and learning from them. It’s like a new form of currency that goes beyond swiping the youth card. ”Your advice on getting this currency works regardless of your age.
