Aaron Eckhart To Star In ‘Rumble Via The Darkish’ Film – Cannes Market – .


EXCLUSIVE: Aaron Eckhart climbed the pugilist thriller Rumble Through the Dark based on the novel The Fighter by Michael Farris Smith.

Smith adapted his own novel and will be directed by Graham Phillips & Parker Phillips (The Bygone). Foresight Unlimited will present the film to foreign buyers at the Virtual Cannes Market. Cassian Elwes of Elevated is producing and representing the image for US sales with CAA Media Finance.

Rumble Through the Dark is set in the dark landscape of the Mississippi Delta, where a former bare knuckle fighter (Eckhart) has to win one last fight to pay off his debt to the local Mafia boss and save his parents’ house – no less than the use as life or death. The cameras will be running in Natchez, MS in late July.

Elwes is producing with Cleta Ellington for the Crooked Letter Picture Company. Foresight’s Mark Damon and Tamara Birkemoe will serve as EPs alongside Tate Taylor and John Norris of Crooked Letter Picture Company and Jere Hausfater.

The Directors said, “We are very excited to be making this film with Aaron and with the support of Cassian Elwes and Tate Taylor and his team. For us, this story is about the love between a mother and a son and how far you will go to find salvation. We cannot imagine anyone better positioned to portray the role of the fighter than Aaron. “

Eckhart’s credits include Roland Emmerich’s Midway; London Has Fallen starring Gerard Butler; Ben Youngers Bleed for it; Clint Eastwoods Sully for Warner Bros .; Rabbit hole next to Nicole Kidman; and the upcoming The First Lady with Viola Davis, Michelle Pfeiffer and Gillian Anderson.

Eckhart is represented by CAA and Hirsch Wallerstein Hayum Matlof and Fishman, and Smith is represented by UTA and Silver Lake Entertainment.

The Foresight Unlimited slate includes Gigi Gaston’s adventure thriller Nine Bullets with Lena Headey, Sam Worthington and Barbara Hershey as well as Lina Roessler’s bestseller with Michael Caine and Aubrey Plaza, which was part of the Berlinale Special Gala and was also produced by Elwes.
