A surreal, life changing moment.
In a truly touching clip of Say Yes to the Dress, which airs on July 24th, a bride describes the tragic accident that left her blind ten years ago.
“Actually, my older sister and I came home from church on March 8, 2011, and we were at a traffic light and were stopped by someone who was under the influence.” Shaela recalls. “All I can remember is that I was in the hospital and felt like I had a blindfold over me. I tried so hard to take it off, but realized I couldn’t. I can’t. I can’t. I can’t.” It’s so surreal afterwards. ” 10 years of just having to remember and accept that this happened. ”
Similar to a dream, the inspiring 26-year-old lives when entering the luxurious Kleinfeld bridal boutique. “I can’t imagine being here with Kleinfeld,” enthuses Shaela. “It seems so surreal, just like my blindness is surreal because I grew up and never thought about what a wedding is like to be a bride.”
The Kleinfeld team has a special guest in store for Shaela: a remote visit to an iconic consultant Randy Fenoli via an iPad. “Hi Beauty!” Randy greets Shaela.
