Rapper Bobby Shmurda was released from prison earlier this year and has been moving a little differently since his absence.
MTO News learned that the Brooklyn rap star posted a video on Instagram yesterday raping and dancing for fans, but his movements were unorthodox for a rapper.
In this post, Bobby’s dance involved a lot of hip action – swinging from side to side ….. hmmm. But then again, there is nothing entirely orthodox about Bobby. The rapper had previously shaped his own dance, the “Shmurda Dance”.
Here is the video:
Bobby Shmurda is a rapper and songwriter. Together with Rowdy Rebel, Shmurda is considered a pioneer of Brooklyn drill music. He became internationally known in 2014 when his song “Hot Nigga” reached number six on the Billboard Hot 100.
The success of the single led Shmurda to sign a deal with Epic Records. His debut EP Shmurda She Wrote was released on November 10, 2014.
On December 18, 2014, New York City Police arrested Shmurda and, along with several other GS9 members, charged him with conspiracy to murder, possess guns, and reckless endangerment.
In 2016, he pleaded guilty and was sentenced to seven years in prison, which was reduced to five years after counting the two years he had already waited for trial. After over six years in prison, Shmurda was released from the Clinton Correctional Facility on February 23, 2021. His release was widely celebrated in the hip hop community.
